These terms apply to work carried out by RankRider, the trading name of Nathan Pallas, a sole trader. They are written to be read rather than to be impenetrable. If anything here is unclear, ask before you pay.
We often build a website for a business before they have asked us to and before any money changes hands. If that's how you found us:
The build fee is £1,200 for a standard small business website of up to eight pages. Larger sites are £1,800–£2,500 and we will tell you the price in writing before starting.
It includes design and build, writing the page content, a mobile-first layout, an enquiry form, service and area pages, structured data for search engines and AI assistants, and putting the site live on your domain.
It does not include logo design, photography, videography, paid advertising, or writing an ongoing blog. We can arrange those separately.
After you have paid, you get two rounds of revisions on the build, to be requested within 30 days of going live. A round means one consolidated list of changes, not a series of individual messages.
Substantial changes of direction — a different design, a different structure, a rewrite of the whole site — are new work and will be quoted separately.
The build fee is payable in full before the site goes live on your domain. Payment by bank transfer. Invoices are due on receipt.
The care plan is billed monthly in advance, starting the month the site goes live.
The care plan is £149 per month. It covers hosting, SSL, backups, security and software updates, Google Business Profile management, review requests and replies, a monthly summary of enquiries, and small changes.
What "small changes" means, so nobody has to guess. Editing text, prices, opening hours, contact details, staff names and service descriptions. Adding or swapping photographs. Adding or removing an item from an existing list. Anything of that sort, and there is no limit on how often you ask.
What it doesn't mean: new pages, new sections, redesigns, new features, e-commerce, booking systems, integrations with other software, or content we have to research or write from scratch. Those are quoted separately at £85 per hour, and we will always tell you the cost before doing the work.
We aim to make small changes within one working day. That's an aim, not a guarantee.
There is no contract and no minimum term. Cancel any time by email and it stops at the end of the month you have paid for. No cancellation fee, and we won't ask you to sit through a retention call.
Once the build fee is paid, the website is yours. The domain is registered in your name. If you cancel the care plan we will give you all the website files and help you move them to another host, at no charge, within 14 days of your asking.
We will not hold a website hostage. If we have to be persuaded to hand something over, we have failed.
We keep the right to show your website as an example of our work, unless you ask us not to.
To put a site live we need access to your domain name, and reasonably prompt answers when we ask you something. If your domain was registered years ago by someone you have lost contact with, tell us early — we will help you recover it, but it can take a few weeks and it is the most common cause of delay.
You confirm that any photographs, logos or text you give us are yours to use.
We aim to have a site live within seven days of you approving it, provided we have access to your domain. Where a delay is outside our control — domain access, waiting on your content, registry or host outages — that time doesn't count towards the seven days.
We will do the work with reasonable skill and care. We cannot guarantee any particular search ranking, position in an AI-generated answer, volume of enquiries or amount of business. Anyone who guarantees you those things is guessing.
Our total liability in connection with the work is limited to the fees you have paid us in the preceding twelve months. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy. Where we process data on your behalf — for example enquiries submitted through your website — we act on your instructions and only for the purposes of providing the service.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
